Tap the shapes, build the block, hear the sound

For children: pick the shape at the top-left, the long line, and the bottom piece — the block puts itself together, reads itself aloud, and gives a sticker.

Same data as the full version · stickers stay on this device · pronunciation uses your browser’s Korean voice.

For parents and teachers — how to start

1 · Show a block, ask "what is at the top-left?"

Children find shapes faster than adults. Let them tap the initial first, then the long line (vowel), then the bottom piece. The block assembles on the right.

2 · Listen, then say it together

Every card has a speaker button. Tap, listen, repeat. The breakdown table shows the three letters with their names.

3 · Collect stickers

"외웠어요!" (I remember it!) gives a star sticker; the sticker book keeps them on this device. Start with "frequent syllables only" (default) so every block the child builds is a real, common one.

4 · Move up to the full version

When the child can build 20–30 blocks, open the Teens version: it adds romanization, meanings, sentences and Everyday Korean phrases.

How a Hangul block is built

① Initial — top-left or top

19 consonant shapes, grouped by look: straight, angled, round (ㅇ), doubled. ㅇ at the start is silent — it only holds the place.

② Vowel — the long line

A long vertical (ㅏ ㅓ ㅣ…) puts the initial on the left; a long horizontal (ㅗ ㅜ ㅡ…) puts it on top; compound vowels (ㅘ ㅝ ㅢ…) wrap around. The block diagram changes as you choose.

③ Final — the bottom piece

Optional. Compound finals (ㄳ ㄺ…) are given pre-assembled. ★ marks the most common final for the chosen initial + vowel.

④ Hear, learn, keep

Each syllable card reads aloud, shows the letter-by-letter breakdown, meaning (incl. Hanja), words and sentences. Same API as the Chinese and Japanese editions: variant=ko.
